Spotlight
The Hunger and Health Coalition would like to shine a spotlight one of our many volunteers.
This month, the spotlight is on Gloria Franklin!
Having moved here in 1991 from Marshall, North Carolina, Gloria is a very active volunteer. Not only does she work in our food recovery department, cooking up prepared meals for our clients, but she also spends every Wednesday at Watauga Medical Center, and still finds time to help out at the Watauga Humane Society!
As if all that volunteering wasn't enough, Gloria still finds time to enjoy life. She likes swimming at the Wellness Center, going to the movies and other shows about town with her friends, and still manages to curl up with a good book.
It is volunteers like Gloria that help enable us to do the work we do. Without our volunteers, we could not do all we do, and we are very grateful for their work.
The Hunger and Health Coalition has many volunteers who assist us in our mission to relieve poverty and hunger in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing immediate, but temporary economic hardship and food shortages. We are grateful for every single one of our volunteers, and want to say "Thank you!" for a job well done.
For specific information on how you can become a volunteer, please contact Kim Winebarger.
