Spotlight

The Hunger and Health Coalition would like to shine a spotlight one of our many volunteers.

This month, the spotlight is on Freddy Jacobson!

This former Registered Nurse moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Greenville in '65, where she became the owner of an AM radio station, 1340 WOOW.
In '85, she moved to Boone, and has been volunteering with us ever since!
During her interview, she recalled working for us back when we were located next to Ram's Rack.

Like many of our volunteers, one area in which Freddy assists us is at our front desk. It is there that she makes sure everyone who comes through our doors gets treated with respect, dignity, and kindness.

When not volunteering, she enjoys reading, especially novels by Ann Perry, swimming, cooking, politics, and spending time with her husband, an adjunct professor in the Communications department at ASU. Together, they're a formidable duplicate bridge couple!

It is volunteers like Freddy that help enable us to do the work we do. Without our volunteers, we could not do all we do, and we are very grateful for their work.

The Hunger and Health Coalition has many volunteers who assist us in our mission to relieve poverty and hunger in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing immediate, but temporary economic hardship and food shortages. We are grateful for every single one of our volunteers, and want to say "Thank you!" for a job well done.

For specific information on how you can become a volunteer, please contact Kim Winebarger.
