Spotlight
Each month, The Hunger and Health Coalition will spotlight one of its volunteers.
This month, we are featuring Ernie Armstrong!
Ernie lives with his wife Mary in Valle Crucis. He has a doctorate in physics, and is retired from NASA!
12 years ago, he was the pioneer of The Hunger and Health Coalition's Pharmacy program. Since then, he has served on the board of Directors for The Hunger and Health Coalition. He's an active member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church, and the Valle County Fair.
Today, he spends at least one day a week volunteering his time at The Hunger and Health Coalition's pharmacy, and at least once a month, travels with the Country Road's Mobile Pharmacy.
It is volunteers like Ernie that help enable us to do the work we do. His generous nature and kindness are a blessing to all, and we are very grateful for his years of service.
The Hunger and Health Coalition has many volunteers who assist us in our mission to relieve poverty and hunger in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing immediate, but temporary economic hardship and food shortages. We are grateful for each of them, and want to say "Thank you!" for a job well done.
For specific information on how you can become a volunteer, please contact Kim Winebarger.
